Most people in my field focused predominately on either design or development. As a result, many designers have trouble adapting their ideas from print to the web (or vice-versa), and many developers know very little about user-interface design or accessibility issues. I've been designing identity systems, developing web sites and producing print materials for over a decade, and it shows in everything I produce.
My coding experience has granted me an extensive knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, SSI & PHP, and I am quite comfortable hand-coding. In addition, I can visually troubleshoot coding problems without actually needing to search the code, making the process of solving the problem much quicker.
I've been designing commercially since I was nine years old, and using graphic software on computers since I was twelve. I have a very strong understanding of good screen design, and I have an eye for detail. I'm able to work on both Macintosh and PC systems and have an in-depth understanding of cross-platform issues. Being something of a geek, I also am quite skilled in basic troubleshooting of whatever system I'm working on. I own my own laptop, and can work from any location.
